Job Summary
The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a highly competent, motivated and organized individual to serve as the Financial Intermediate Manager. The Financial Intermediate Manager plays a critical fiduciary role in overseeing and managing the financial operations, processes and reporting within the division and department. Reporting directly to, and in partnership with the Division Administrator, candidates for this position are expected to exhibit strong analytical skills and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a complex organization. Managing a team of three, the finance team is responsible for a wide range of services to support faculty and staff in the Division of Rheumatology. Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. A positive attitude, strong customer service and communication skills are imperative to be successful in this role. This role requires a thorough understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to leads a team ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities*
Develops, interprets and implements highly complex financial/accounting concepts and advanced techniques for financial planning and control. Will provide expert advisory capability and interpretation on all levels of financial activity. Plans, coordinates and executes policy implementation applicable to the installation of improved financial operations. Provides specialized technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Directs the development and implementation of new concepts and techniques for financial information analysis. Represent the division on various committees and teams Work within the rheumatology administrative team and division to establish sound strategic plans for future growth of our tripartite missions.

This is hybrid position with the opportunity for remote work. Occasional travel for meetings, training, and conferences may be required.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
