Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for teaching and assessing law students in a subject matter of law in which he or she has significant professional experience. The College of Law has needs in all subject matter areas, including the foundational subject matter courses of Contracts, Civil Procedure, Torts, Property, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Writing, Evidence, Trial Advocacy, Business Organizations, Sales, Criminal Procedure, First Amendment, Professional Responsibility, Wills & Trusts, Intellectual Property, Real Estate Law, Products Liability, Administrative Law, Municipality Law, Mediation, Negotiations, Bar Support clases, and Summer Bar Support. The College of Law will also consider other elective subject matter proficiencies that may be of interest to students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instruct and assess students with respect to their study and learning in the particular subject matter course.
Counsel students and be available at times and through means that are reasonably assessable and convenient to students.
Teach both in traditional physical classroom spaces as well as in virtual classroom spaces.
Write, administer, assess and grade students in accordance with the College of Law’s academic requirements and standards.
Stay current in and continually strive to improve their teaching skills and expertise in the subjects that they teach.
Stay informed of changes in the law and include in their courses a discussion of recent significant statutory changes and case law developments.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be either admitted to the practice of law in a jurisdiction in the United States, be a judge of a United States court or a court of record in any jurisdiction of the United States, or be a graduate of a law school approved by the American Bar Association or accredited by the Committee.

Ability and willingness to learn University policies and procedures and implement and enforce those policies when chaperoning tournaments
