Program Manager – PIT (Public Interest Technology) Initiatives

Job Description

The Program Coordinator will coordinate and manage activities related to Public Interest Technology (PIT) initiatives at Meharry. The Program The Program Manager (PM) will manage activities related to Public Interest Technology (PIT) initiatives at Meharry. The PM works under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and performs management duties, assists with preparation of reports, interacts with external partners. The PM for PIT initiatives will be responsible for administrative management of the day-to-day activities. The PM is expected to plan, implement and evaluate PIT initiatives at the college and in the community. The PM will lead the submission of required reports, and manage the center budget. The PM will implement the project evaluation plan, including collecting and analyzing and disseminating data. Duties will fall into 2 broad categories: 1) establishing PIT initiatives for students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders and 2) program evaluation and reporting.

 

 

Daily Operations

 

Establish PIT Initiatives at Meharry Medical College

  • Manage the daily operations to complete project goals and objectives
  • Manage logistics to ensure successful program implementation 
  • Plan and implement program initiatives
  • Lead external/internal communications efforts and event planning operations
  • Participate in funding agency training activities, as required
  • Liaises with relevant stakeholders (community, faculty, students, and staff)
  • Manage project calendar and schedules team meetings
  • Manage project social media sites
  • Represent Meharry at Public Interest Technology-University Network meetings  

 

Program Evaluation & Reporting

  • Implement project evaluation plan
  • Prepare and disseminate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by the funder.
  • Manage budget expenditures
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.    
                                              

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once. 
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of a diverse team. 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think and plan strategically.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 
  • Knowledge of data collection software (i.e. Redcap, Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, etc.) 
  • Familiarity and willingness to utilize social media  


Required Education and Experience

  • MPH required
