The American University of Malta (AUM) invites applications for a full-time academic administrative position as the University Provost to start immediately.
AUM is an American-style comprehensive university located on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea. The American University of Malta opened in 2017 and currently offers 10 undergraduate and 2 graduate programs with several more being developed at the Baccalaureate, Masters and Doctoral levels.
Reporting to the CEO, the University Provost oversees all aspects of the administration of AUM’s academic affairs and is an integral component of campus leadership, facilitating the professional development of faculty and academic staff, and supporting innovation in teaching and learning.
The ideal candidate should:
be an experienced, innovative, and thoughtful leader who has a strong understanding of best practices in academic affairs at an American-style university in an international setting,
have an earned doctorate, preferably in a field that is taught at AUM,
have at least 5 years’ experience in ever-increasing roles of responsibility in the administration of academic affairs at a US university,
have experience teaching in an institution of higher education; preferably at both the graduate and undergraduate level,
have explicit experience in accreditation, strategic planning, program development and formulation of policy,
be an excellent communicator to both internal and external constituents,
be a visionary leader who can propel a start-up university to reach its full potential while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and academic offerings,
Candidates must also provide evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment to make substantive contributions through service to the University and the broader community.
