Regis College invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of vice president of academic affairs, the chief academic officer of the College.

Regis College was founded in 1927 by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston (CSJ). The Sisters founded Regis College at a time when higher education options for women were limited. The mission of providing access to an education based on CSJ values and striving for excellence tempered with gentleness endures today on a co-educational campus that prides itself on welcoming all without distinction. The campus is located in Weston, Massachusetts, in the greater Boston area. 

The vice president of academic affairs (VPAA) reports directly to the president and as chief academic officer, the VPAA leads the deans of the schools of Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences, Business and Communication, and the Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing. The VPAA will be an innovative leader who will provide a vision for all aspects of academic life at the College, including enriching academic programs and faculties, and enhancing teaching, research, and the student experience. The VPAA will play a significant role on the leadership team of the College to help achieve the institution’s strategic goals and vision of excellence, including enhancing Regis' role as a local and national leader in the education of health professionals. The VPAA will achieve this vision through overseeing all aspects of the College’s academic areas, guiding faculty development, fostering partnerships, strengthening administrative processes and support systems, and setting budget policy. 

The new VPAA must be a seasoned administrator with demonstrated leadership experience; knowledge of and ability to promote the College’s mission; and a clear sense of the complex challenges of an institution with undergraduate, graduate and professional schools as well as a rapidly growing online enrollment. Extraordinary communications skills are essential for success, as is the ability to work collaboratively throughout the institution to foster a culture of collegiality and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring experience in online education and demonstrated leadership in improving student outcomes in an environment that values diversity and inclusive excellence. In addition to experience comparable to that of a vice president, dean, or associate vice president, the VPAA will have an earned doctorate or terminal professional degree and a record of scholarly achievement that would merit a faculty appointment in one of the four schools of the College.
