The Wang Laboratory at UAB in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine/Engineering School is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with at least 2 years� experience in basic and translational cardiovascular research. The Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associates will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cardiovascular science techniques, including in vivo cardiovascular disease models, in vitro genetic/molecular modification and interaction, and genomic/proteomic platforms. The two positions will lead independent research projects toward ultimate publications. Specifically, they are responsible for conducting experiments, collecting, recording, and verifying scientific data, reporting research progress and findings to the principal investigator, presenting, and disseminating research progress and findings in lab meetings, national or international conferences.

The ideal candidate will have a recent Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, genetics, immunology, pathology, or similar field, with a proven track record of creativity and productivity. Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and have strong oral/written communications skills. Preferred qualifications include extensive prior research experience with cardiovascular medicine.
