Job Description Summary

Eastern Oregon University extends its outstanding higher education learning and degree program opportunities nationwide via fully accredited courses using its online learning environment resources.

EOU is recruiting to establish an adjunct instructor applicant pool to teach courses in the following academic disciplines. These courses will generally be taught online:

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Health Professions (including Medical Terminology and other courses in the field)

  • Mathematics

We currently need an instructor certified to teach CPR on campus Spring Term 2019.

Appointment will begin based on Departmental need.

Responsibilities

Eastern Oregon University is seeking applicants interested in teaching online courses in the above subject areas. We seek energetic, positive professionals dedicated to teamwork and high-quality undergraduate instruction (individuals with online teaching experience are preferred). A successful candidate:

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree in associated discipline

  • Required certifications (Example: Appropriate CPR Certification to teach CPR course)

  • Successful completion of an EOU background check and submission of valid work authorization documents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal Degree in associated discipline

  • One or more years of experience teaching relevant courses in post-secondary, online environment

  • Previous teaching experience, preferably in post-secondary education

  • Ability to effectively inspire and teach students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles in online education environment

  • Competency in the use of an online learning management software application(s) ( i.e. CANVAS, Blackboard, etc.)
