The Department of Mathematics in Mercer Universitys College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty position to start August 1, 2019. This 9-month, renewable position is open to all mathematical specialties. Responsibilities include teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate mathematics (21 semester hours per academic year); engaging in scholarship leading to peer-reviewed publications; supervising undergraduate research/projects; advising students; serving on a collegiate committee; and contributing to the department and the College through service. Candidates are encouraged to identify area of interest and ability to contribute to departmental programs in statistics or actuarial science or integrative general education courses outside of the department.
A Ph.D. from an accredited college/university in the mathematical sciences or closely related field is expected at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellent undergraduate teaching, the capacity for ongoing peer-reviewed scholarship, and a desire to be an active citizen in the department and College. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the final candidate.
