Description: The Director of Development is responsible for increasing the participation rate of annual giving among alumni and friends and seeking mid-level gifts in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. The successful candidate will develop and execute a year-round acquisition, cultivation and retention program for annual gifts that will involve personal solicitation, direct mail, e-solicitation, and phonathon. The Director will be motivated and goal-oriented, as well as passionate about telling the story of Henderson State through multiple channels in a way that inspires alumni and friends to provide financial support. The Director of Developmentreports to the Associate Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations. Active alumni and friends include approximately 24,000 nationwide.

Other qualifications include strong writing, planning and organizational skills; high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information; prioritization to meet deadlines; and the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed. The successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving’s record that is acceptable to the university.
